The Prophets’ Reward

I had never really thought about the Prophets’ Reward, until one day a lady that the Lord spoke to though me, gave me a bottle of water. She said, “What I had spoken a week or two before has rapidly been coming to pass.” She wanted to give me a bottle of water for the prophets’ reward.  I thanked her and went on my way, still not thinking much about it.
Later, that night, the prophets’ reward came to me again and I began to meditate on it. The next day I opened an e-mail from Jane Hamon, the title was “The Time of The Prophets’ Reward.”
At this point, the Spirit leaped in me and I said to myself, “I guess I am supposed to teach on the prophet's reward.” I began a search for the phrase, “prophet’s reward” in the Bible and found only four places where it was mentioned. It is mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 10:40-42 when he sent out the twelve disciples. Jesus also mentions a great reward for those who believe are persecuted just the prophets, in Matthew 5:11-13 and Luke 6:23. Both are mentioned in The Beatitudes at the start of the Sermon on the Mount. The last place mentioned is about the 24 elders in Revelation 11:18 “…and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small."
The prophet’s reward is great and you will not lose it. We have two examples first is Elijah and the widow at Zarephath in 1 Kings 17. After her statement of the facts, the widow does what Elijah says and there is a  supernatural continuous provision. Then her son dies and a is bought back to life by Elijah. A great reward of provision and restoration of life. The second is in 2 Kings 4:8-36 Elisha and Shunammite woman. The woman served the prophet and received a great reward. She received life and had a son. Then years later the child dies and Elisha restores life to her reward.  So we see the prophets’ reward is one of supernatural provision and an impartation of the life of God into their lives.
If God’s provision and life are all there is to the prophets’ reward that would be more than enough. But there is more.
The greatest reward is the relationship with God. Matthew 10:40-42, when you receive a prophet you are receiving God himself. When the Word is spoken by a prophet, you are receiving far more than just provision and life, you are opening a life-changing relationship with God that you will not lose.
Receiving is more than just hearing a prophetic word, there is also doing. The widow and Shunammite woman did something. They activated the word in their lives. Sadly, many people hear a word and do nothing with it. True receiving is you taking action. Action starts by believing and praying over the word. Then, when the opportunities to do, then do, step out, even a small step is a beginning.  Then, the prophetic word and the prophets' reward are yours and will not be lost.
