Selah for Today 10-31-2019 - Manifest

Manifest means: 1) clear or obvious to the eye or mind.  2) display or show by one's acts or appearance, demonstrate. 

Galatians 4:6-7(NIV)  Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[b] Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

We are to manifest (demonstrate) who we are the sons and daughters of God. We do this by manifesting God's love, forgiveness, and power to everyone.

Selah for Today 10-30-2019 - Radical

Radical has different meanings, the most commonly used is associated with political views of extreme change just as the racial left or the radical right. It also means proceeding from the root. Another meaning is: designed to remove the root of a disease or all disease and potentially disease tissue.
  Jesus and the believers of the early church were radicals. They called mankind back to a relationship with God and to remove the disease of sin from their lives. They moved in the name of Jesus and the power in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring about change.
  When confronted and told to stop in Acts 4:12-22  and Acts 5:28-30 they continued to speak of God's love and salvation. They changed the world with God's love and power.
 It is time for us as believers to return to our roots, to become radical. We stand up to those who are yelling at us, "to sit down and shut up or else." It's time for us to say, " We will obey God rather than man." Then go out into the world and change it with God's Love and Power.
 Let's get RADICAL!

Selah for Today 10-29-2019 - Overcomer




Overcome is succeeding in dealing with a problem or difficulty, to defeat an opponent; to prevail. It also means to overpower or overwhelm. 
We as believers are always to be overcomers, we are never to be overcome, in other words, we are never supposed to be defeated. We just haven't won yet and we will win!! 
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20(NIV)
 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  Acts 1:8-9(NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
  We have the power of the Holy Spirit, He leads us and guides and when we move with Him we Win!!!

Selah for Today 10-28-2019 - Really

Really can mean, an actual fact, as opposed to what is said or imagined to be true or possible or can be used to expressed interest, surprise or doubt. 
  I heard this word used a lot lately used to express surprise or doubt. So it REALLY is a fact that God loves you. In the Bible, God states this plain and clear in
 John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved YOU* that he gave his one and only Son, that WHEN YOU* believe in him YOU *shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the YOU*, but to save the YOU* through him. (*changes were done for emphasis)  and God wants the best for you 

Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Yes, REALLY!!!

Selah for Today 10-25-2019 - Expectations




Expectations are defined as a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.
The question is, what are your expectations? Are you expecting health or sickness? A great day or a bad day? Success or failure? Increase or lack? 
 Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV)

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
   Philippians 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

God calls to you choose Life, knowing the plans He has for you.  God encourages you to expect Good.  Which do you choose?

Selah for Today 10-24-2019- Freedom





Freedom according to Webster's Dictionary is the quality or state of being free such as the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action. Liberation from slavery.
  Freedom is wonderful, but freedom without responsibility always leads back to slavery. When we don't take personal responsibility for our freedoms, someone else will do it for us and that leads to tyranny and slavery. True freedom begins with Christ.

Galatians 5:1(NIV) It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.  1 Corinthians 10:23 (NIV) “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive

Selah for Today 10-23-2019- Jubilee

Why Jubilee? In Bible Jubilee means, a year of emancipation and restoration and much more. It is found in Leviticus of the trumpet (Shofar) on the Day of Atonement in Leviticus Chapter 25.
  Since the fall of Adam and Eve, God has been working to bring mankind into Jubilee. This is where we will be emancipated from sin and our relationship with God will be restored to the one like Adam and Eve had with Him. But as with Israel, we can choose to accept God's emancipation and restoration or ignore it and miss the Jubilee of God. The choice is yours.

Selah for Today 10-22-219 - Adventure




 Many people, including believers, live boring and dull lives. They need adventure.
Adventure is defined by Webster's Dictionary as 1) an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks 2) an exciting or remarkable experience. To have days full of adventure, it takes walking by faith. Faith equals adventure. When you walk with God and listen to Him you will have exciting and remarkable experiences every day. So, step out in faith and step into adventure.
  
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

   Seek means:1) to go in search or quest 2)to try to find or discover by searching or questioning. 
Many people are seeking something and they do not know what they are seeking. God says in Deuteronomy 4:29(NIV)  But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. and Matthew 6:33 (NIV)  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Selah for Today 10-18-2019 Change Not


Malachi 3:6 (NIV)  “I the Lord do not change." This scripture and many others God declares:" He does not Change." 

As Christians and Jews, we believe that God does not change and His laws are absolute. Socialists, communists, and dictators who say, "morals, and laws change to what we say." Is this why they hate God and us? Think about it.

Selah for Today 10-17-2019- Choose Life


Deuteronomy 30:19-20(NIV) 19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life,* so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

God gives us a choice and then gives us the answer, "Choose Life". God wants us to choose life in everything we do, say and think. We need in every area of our lives to choose Life. In other words, choose God for He is Life and gives life.

One of the definitions of stand: is to agree to be in accord
 
In Ephesians 6: 10-18, there is stand against the devil's schemes, stand your ground, after doing everything stand and finally stand firm. All of these point to agreeing with and being in accord with God. 
    I choose to Stand with, Agree with and be in accord with God. Where do You Stand?

Adventures begin when you step out in faith

Acts 3:5-7 (NKJV)  So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
