Selah for Today 09-02-2019 Responsibility

Responsibility: mature “response-to-my-ability” – The ability to act independently without supervision – A moral obligation to act appropriately in respect towards others as well as tasks

“Man must cease attributing his problems to his environment, and learn again to exercise his will—his personal responsibility.” (1) –Albert Schweitzer
“Then God said to Abraham, “Your responsibility is to obey the terms of the covenant. You and all your descendants have this continual responsibility.” –Genesis 17:9 (NLT)

Selah for Today 08-26-2019-Forgive

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” (1) –Lewis B. Smedes
When you forgive, the very chemical structure of the brain changes from the negative to the positive affecting the entire thinking/memory building process (2) –Dr. Caroline Leaf

Matthew 6:14 (NKJV) “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Selah for Today 08-24-2019-Leadership

True Leadership helps others to climb up the mountain.
Judges 5:1-3 (NKJV) Then and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying:
When leaders lead in Israel, When the people willingly offer themselves, Bless the Lord!
Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princess! I, even I, will sing to the Lord, I will sing praise to the Lord God of Isreal.

Selah for Today -08-08-2019- DNA

DNA provides a unique set of instructions that build you, however: “All humans are 99.9 percent identical. So to hate someone, a group or race is to hate yourself. Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV) 3Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

ALL IN!

Many in the church asking praying and believing for a great global awakening. Many prophets, including myself, are hearing from the  Lord that He is indeed moving and many are hearing from the Lord of a billion souls coming to Christ in this awakening. How is this going to happen? Is God, By the Holy Spirit going to move in a great massive move on people’s hearts and there will instantly be a billion conversions to Christ? God could do that, but He wants to you, His church to do this with Him. His call to the church and individually is to be “All In.”

The phrase “All in” means to be totally committed to something.  To prime examples of this are found in 2 Chronicles 2 – 7:3. King Solomon and all Israel were totally committed to building the Temple. We see the results of being “All in” in 2 Chronicles 5:11-14, “the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the house of God” This happens again after Solomon’s prayer of dedication 2 Chronicles 7:1-3. Fire comes down from heaven consumes the burnt offerings, and the sacrifices and Shekinah fill the House of God and all the people see it and worship God.

Another example is found in Acts 1:12-Acts 2. There were 120 disciples gathered in the upper room waiting for days for the promised Holy Spirit.  They were “all in,” remember they were in Israel, to say the least, a very warm location. So that room with 120 people in it was hot, and there was no deodorant to cut the body odor.  They knew Jesus and were committed to waiting for the promise. We know the results of their being “All in,” the Holy Spirit came, and the church was born, and 3000 were added and many more every day from that day.

God is calling us to be “All in,” to make the sacrifices to have an intimate relationship with Him. We need to listen to His voice and do what He says to do. Then, all of us will be a part of a great global awakening and a billion people coming to Christ. The big question is, “ Are you willing to be, “All In.”

A Memorial Day Speical Post: Just One More Lord

This is honor all our military, for they all are Heroes.

Just One More, Lord!
I was watching the movie Hacksaw Ridge, about Desmond Doss a Seventh Day Adventist conscientious objector and Medic and Medal of Honor honoree during World War II.
During one of the worst battles of the war. The battle for Okinawa and the worst battle for the island, Hacksaw Ridge.
While the Japanese Army held the ridge, He rescued 75 wounded American Soldiers, lower them 350 ft. down the side of the escarpment to safety.  Japanese Soldiers reported having him in their gunsights, but their guns would jam when they tried to shoot him. During this time, he kept praying, “Lord, Just One More!”
That prayer stayed with me, “Lord Just One More!”  I asked the Lord, “Why is this is staying with me.”
Lord said, “I want my people to have that same cry in their hearts, “Lord Just One More.”
In 1 Corinthians 9:16-27, Paul has this attitude of the heart, doing and being whatever it takes for the Gospel.
Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV)  And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Then Jesus was beaten and crucified, He was doing the Just One More!
We Must Cry Out from Our Hearts:
Lord, just one more pledge, here.
Lord, just one more deliverance.
Lord, just one more demon cast out.
Lord, just one more healing.
Lord, just one more miracle.
Lord, just one more Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Most importantly,
JUST ONE MORE SALVATION!!
Oh, don’t worry about the devil, God will cause his guns to jam like he did for Desmond Doss.

We Watched

We watched man kill the Son of God,
We the Host of Heaven with tears in our eyes And our swords drawn,
Stood there and watched man kill the Son of God.
We would have attacked and destroyed them all,
At His voice command, we would have,
But He said, forgive them, and then He died.
We watched as men took Him from His cross,
And laid Him in His tomb,
And we watched over Him.
Then came that grand and glorious morning,
When the Son of God burst forth from the tomb,
And we the Host of Heaven rejoiced,
We who watched man kill the Son of God.

This poem comes fromMatthew 26:52-54. This is where Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, has been arrested and the disciples are drawing their swords to defend Him. Jesus tells them to stop and that He could pray that the Father would send 12 legions of angels to defend Him.

This is a powerful statement. The Amplified Bible states that 12 legions would have been more than 80,000 angels. This would have been a force to completely destroy all mankind, except for the followers of Christ. One angel killed 70,000 between morning and evening in ll Samuel 24:15-17 and another angel killed 185,000 in one night in ll Kings 19:34-36.

But, Jesus love for man and His heart to do the will of the Father kept Him from calling for the angels. And it was not just at this point He could have called for help. Jesus called out at any point -- when He was falsely convicted and when He was whipped 39 times and mocked by Roman Soldiers. Also, when He stood before the crowd yelling, "crucify him," as He carried His cross and when He was hanging on the cross. Even at the point of death, He could have called for the angels.

The Love of Christ for each and every one of us compelled Jesus to follow the plan of salvation laid out before creation was created. Truly, all the angels and for that matter, all the demons watched Jesus carry out the ultimate act of love for mankind.

This is why we celebrate Easter. The price for sin has been paid, and all our sins are forgiven. We can all have a relationship with God, our loving Father, through His Son Jesus Christ, if you believe.

Who Are You Part 2

In Part 1, we discussed being the servant and the attitude of a servant that keeps us from becoming who we truly are in Christ. The key to remember is that God’s grace still keeps us and God sees us as we ready are, no matter how we think and see ourselves. Abram saw himself as a servant, God called him a friend.

This part of the teaching we shall look at ourselves as kings and priests. The scriptures for this are:
1 Peter 2:9-10 (AMP) 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light…
Exodus 19:5-8 (AMP) 5Now therefore, if you will obey My voice in truth and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own peculiar possession and treasure from among and above all peoples; for all the earth is Mine.6And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation [consecrated, set apart to the worship of God]…
These two scriptures, among many, make reference to being kings and priests. This goes back to the very beginning when God told Adam; he had dominion over all the earth. This is kingship.
A king has authority and power to establish laws and to enforce those laws. Adam only had one greater authority above him and that was God, The King of Kings.
The kings of Israel were supposed to represent the King of Kings, the Lord God to his people. They were to be examples the goodness, the mercy, and protection of God for his people. The king was also to lead the people to God. The king was to seek the counsel of God on how to lead the people. Sadly nearly every king of Israel failed in these responsibilities.
The priests were not only to make sacrifices to God and worship Him; they were to teach the people about God. They were to teach people that, their sin kept them from God but that God had made a way through the atonement sacrifices for their sins they could have a relationship with God. The priests were also to teach all the people of the earth God’s message of love and mercy through the atonement. God never intended that Israel were the only ones to have a relationship with Him.
Priests and kings have a relationship with God. They are invited to do more than just make petitions in the Throne of God. They are invited into the banquet hall; share the table of God’s blessings, to eat and drink with Him. They can hear God plans and discuss those plans and with God’s help implement those plans. They are also given their own authority and power under the King of Kings to do the work they have been assigned.
We believers in Christ Jesus are the kings and priest of God today. We have been given authority, Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-18 and the power came in Acts 2:1-4.
As great as all this is we, as with the servant, are more than a king or a priest. In fact, we are much more as we will see in Part 3.

WHO ARE YOU? Part 1

(This is older teaching republished at this time. It is as important today as then. I pray this 4 Part Series Blesses You)

The question, “Who are you?” plagues many a person, including many Christian. Who you are is at the very core of your existence. Most people go through life thinking what they do is who they are. They themselves as a mailman, doctor, mother, father, minister and the list goes on. Those who think of themselves as only what they do have a crisis every time what they do changes. The man or women who spend a lifetime building their career and identity is wrapped up in that career have a major problem when they have to retire or are no longer have that career path available to them. So where do we go to find out who we are? Where do we go to “find ourselves”?

The best place to find out who we are is God and the Bible. Who does God said you are? Let’s look and find out.

The first thing we see is the servant according to Webster’s is one that serves others <a public servant>; especially: one that performs duties about the person or home of a master or personal employer. Abram uses the first reference of the servant in his relationship to God. This now Abram saw himself in relationship to God. In Genesis 18:3 (AMP) And said, My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant, I beg of you.
A servant is one who goes and does what the master tells him to do. A servant does things whether they want to or not. They do what they are told. Their relationship with the master is to do or be punished. There may develop a love for their master (if he is a good person), but the relationship is overshadowed by having to please the master or be punished. If the servant wants something from the master, he must beg for it and may have to extras for the master, who may or may not grant their request.

This is true of many Christians, we see ourselves only as servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. We go and do as the Holy Spirit tells us. Many believers never get beyond the servant level of relationship with God. We limit ourselves to the servant, as did Abram. We try to please God into granting us His blessings. The servant attitude prevails I have to pray more, fast more, read more, memorize more and do more to get God’s favor so He will bless us with finances, health, healing, deliverance and anything else we might ask.
This leads us down the road of legalism, of having to do to get. Unfortunately, this attitude and relationship with God have been taught, by many church leaders as “The Relationship with God” and in order to serve God, we must serve them without question, as a good servant.

I am not saying that a servant of the Lord does not love God because he or she does. But, the mentality of the servant position colors everything about our relationship with God. Notice that I said, “Servant position” for it is not who we are in Christ. It is what we do out of our love for God. God stated later in Genesis 18 that He saw Abram as more than a servant, and He sees us as much more than a servant, but more about that later.

A Series of Prophetic Words and Visions for this Moment Part 2

Then I saw Three Pillars of Fire coming down from heaven. The first pillar came down on Cape Henry. Its fire flowed over the Chesapeake Bay, flowing up the Eastern Shore and southward along the coast of Virginia Beach and Northeastern North Carolina and covering the Atlantic Ocean for hundreds of miles.

The second pillar came down on Regent University and CBN. At this point, I heard the Lord say, “I will not allow Regent University to go the way of Harvard or Yale.” This pillar spread out in every direction, connecting to the first pillar and the fire was directed south. The fire flowed into Northern Georgia.  It also connected with the third Pillar of Fire in the west.

The third Pillar of Fire came down on the Richmond, Virginia area. This fire was directed to west Reaching across the mountains into Tennesse, West Virginia, and Ohio. The fire also spread north covering Wahington D.C. Maryland and flowing into Pennsylvania.

I asked the Lord, “Why three Pillars of Fire? The Lord answered, “Virginia is the gateway to the nation since the first settlers came ashore and dedicated the land. I am establishing My presence in the gateway. I will keep evil from entering through the gateway.”

Part 3
The lord began to speak again, “I am doing a new thing,...
Part 3 Coming on Tuesday

God is Moving in the Moment

By Richard L. Spangler

The Lord recently to me spoke “Stop saying I am moving in the hour, I am moving in the moment. What I am doing is different than any other move.  This is a time of my extravagance, there are things that are being released that have not been seen before on the earth. Do not look back to the way I moved before, do not hold onto the past.”

In Matthew 14:22-36 we an example of God doing something new. We are familiar with the story, Jesus comes walking on the water to the disciples. This was something that had never happened. No one had ever seen a man walking on the water. The disciples were afraid, I would have.  Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, It is I.”  Then Peter, said, “ If it is you Lord tell me to come.” Jesus said, “Come.” In spite of everything Peter had experienced and knew about water, he stepped out of the boat. Peter walked on water until he started looking at storms and not Jesus. Jesus rescued him and they walked together.

This a time, that Jesus is calling us to get out of our boats and walk with him into the “new” that is happening in this moment. But sadly, there are many that staying in their boats. Their attitude is, this is my boat, I like my boat and I am not letting go of my boat.

A boat can be any number of things: the Jesus movement of the 1960s, the Charismatic Renewal of the 1970s, the Word of Faith of the 1980s and the Toronto Father’s Blessing and Pensacola Revival of 1990s and the early 2000s. All of these moves were new and different than what had come before and all were great.  These moves served their purpose, blessing God’s people and people all over the world came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Each time, there was a new move, we had to be willing to let go of the old boat and walk on the water into the new move of God. But, at some point, we build boats of tradition around these moves and became comfortable with our religious boats. They became “our boats”. To be able to experience and be part of what God is doing in the moment, each of us need to let go of “my boat” and step out and walk on the water with Jesus.

There will be storms raging around us as there were before. The world is always in storms whether manmade or created by the devil. We need to keep our focus on Jesus and walk with him.

God is saying, “Come and walk with me on the water.” The choice is ours, we can hold onto our boats or we can let go and walk on the water with Jesus. I choose to walk in the moment with Jesus, how about you?

Revival and Awakening

I am feeling the call to pray for revival and awakening.

  Please pray with me;

Lord we have seen the work of the enemy to destroy this nation and have heard his threats and seen his actions against your people. We have seen the spirits of hate and murder unleashed in our land.

Father, this land was established by covenants with You, to fulfill Your Will in this land and in the nations of the earth. Lord forgive us for forgetting and breaking those covenants. Father we desire to fulfill the covenants proclaimed from the shores of Virginia and Massachusetts and all the covenants made with You for this land.  Father, You who are Faithful, the Keeper of Covenants arise and walk with us as we keep the covenants of old.

Father, breathe a fresh fire of the Holy Spirit into us, cause us stir ourselves. to stir up the Gifts that you have given us. Direct our steps, overflow us with the Fire of Your Love that cannot be contained. That we would be transformed and we go forth and transform this nation.

Start with us, as we pray, that we would flow with Your Holy Fire and would ignite those around us. That they would, in turn ignite those that are around them with Holy Fire. That there would be a Holy Wild Fire that would sweep and transform this nation and the nations of the earth.

Arise, Lord God of Heaven and God, Keeper of Covenants drive back the spirits of hate and murder. We stand in Covenant with You Lord God and declare with You: spirits of hate and murder no more, you are bound and silenced in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Thank You Father God for keeping the covenants with us.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
